Power Roll is a company that have developed a platform technology which has energy storage and energy generation applications. This is achieved by printing micro-grooves, smaller than a human hair, onto a 0.1mm thick flexible film. The company have been working on two high-value applications; PV modules and capacitor products which have the potential to disrupt its respective markets.

On the PV side, Power Roll can produce flexible solar film which is capable of producing ultra-low cost electricity. At $0.03/Watt to manufacture, it's much cheaper than existing flexible PV solutions and delivers the lowest levelised energy cost of any solar technology. This lightweight, flexible film is scalable and sustainable.

On the capacitor and energy storage side, this technology is cost-effective to manufacture and offer an enhanced lifetime compared with traditional wet electrolytic components. Using flexible film enables the use of innovative shapes to address form factor constraints.
