As Engagement Manager, Jack works with clients across RIG’s Industrial Decarbonisation & Circular Economy practice and its Agrifood & Water practice. In this capacity, his work has primarily been focussed on market validation work and engineering strategic commercial relationships between our clients and major players in their ecosystems. In addition, he leads client acquisition within RIG. This has included refining and codifying the acquisition procedure, engaging with the practice directors to set their goals and expectations, and managing a CA team to achieve these.
Jack read Modern Languages & Literatures at The Queen’s College, Oxford, where he was President of the University Amateur Boxing Club and sat on the college undergraduates’ council for two years. Speaking fluent French and Italian, he spent three years in Rome working as diplomat and adviser to the head of a transnational humanitarian organisation involving >120,000 people. After this role, he studied an MBA at IE Business School in Madrid to develop his quantitative skillset, graduating with honours in December 2018. He joined RIG in 2019 following a strategy & marketing project to re-structure the corporate governance and to reformulate the pricing, positioning & promotional strategies of his family business – a caravan site in East Yorkshire.
Jack’s primary focus is developing his expertise in RIG’s stage-specific skillset, working with technologies in the early stages of commercialisation – where the terrain is largely unfriendly, and the rules of engagement are not so clearly defined. He is industry-agnostic, though his current area of interest is technologies which have a socio-environmental impact. His ultimate goal is to build, grow and scale companies based in the north of England.
Outside of work, Jack is a keen sportsman (boxing, cricket and skiing), enjoys writing bad poems, and is secretary of a charity specialising in taking disabled friends on holidays.
